Will 'The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping' open at $70 million or above in North America (November 20-22, 2026)?

Lionsgate releases the Haymitch Abernathy prequel on November 20, 2026 after a record 109 million first-day trailer views, with trade forecasts centering on a $70–80 million domestic opening — comfortably above The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes at $44.6 million but well short of Catching Fire's $158 million. This market resolves YES if the three-day domestic opening weekend gross is $70,000,000 or more. Worldwide totals and extended holiday windows do not qualify.

Resolution rules · English binding text

This market resolves YES if the domestic (United States and Canada) three-day opening weekend gross of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping for Friday November 20 through Sunday November 22, 2026 is at or above $70,000,000, as reported by Box Office Mojo at or before November 23, 2026, 23:59 (UTC-8) — equivalent to November 24, 2026, 07:59 UTC. Resolves NO if the reported figure is below $70,000,000. The three-day actuals published by Box Office Mojo are binding; if actuals are not published by the deadline, the studio's Sunday three-day estimate as carried by Box Office Mojo is used instead. Four-day or holiday-extended windows, international and worldwide grosses, per-theater averages and later revisions do not change the outcome; Thursday preview grosses count only to the extent Box Office Mojo includes them in the Friday figure. If the release is moved out of the November 20-22 window, the market resolves NO. A value exactly at $70,000,000 resolves YES (higher bracket).
